SCALE project [website]

SCALE, which stands for Scalable Computing for Advanced Library and Environment, is a basic library for weather and climate model of the earth and planets aimed to be widely used in various models. The SCALE library is developed with co-design by researchers of computational science and computer science.

SCALE-LES is a large-eddy simulation model for weather and climate, based on SCALE.

NICAM-DC project [website]

NICAM (Nonhydrostatic ICosahedral Atmospheric Model) is the first global nonhydrostatic model performing a simulation with 3.5km mesh over the globe (Sato et al, 2008). Currently, NICAM has been continued to co-develop by the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC), Atmosphere and Ocean Research Institute (AORI) at University of Tokyo, and RIKEN Center for Computational Science (R-CCS).

NICAM-DC is the dynamical core package of NICAM includes model framework and nonhydrostatic dynamical core. This package is released for the purpose of widespread use of NICAM.
